Inge de Jonge & Jan Willem Schipper

Since 5 years now, we live with our family in a  little village on the border of the Cevennes National Park, not far from Barjac.
Inge designes clothing and home decoration and has her own fashion label. She runs a little shop near the house in Barjac were she also sells her handmade home decor made out of recycled materials.

Besides running their guesthouse "Souffle de Vent" in Barjac, Jan Willem does the communication for the clothinglabel, collects and sells Brocante (antiques and collectables), and has
a decorating business.

The historical town of Barjac, where our guesthouse is situated, is on the border of Provence and the Cevennes, It is a lively, charming village with magnificent views of the Cevennes.

Souffle de Vent is a  beautifully renovated house, with four independent self catering apartments, or gîtes. There is a small court yard with a barbeque and a cosy communal area you can find books, maps and plenty of other local information. The gites stay cool in the summer because of its fortuitous position in the middle of the historic towncenter and obviously its impressive thick stone walls. The house is situated on one of the little pedestrian lanes (parking nearby).

Jan Willem is an outdoor enthusiast and knows the area very well. He is happy to assist you during your stay and can provide you with lots of good ideas for day trips, activities, local equipment hire options and even directions to the special secret spots the tourist office will never reveal. See the web pages ‘Area’,’Activities’ and ‘Barjac’ for more information.

 Atelier of the magnanerie/  www.ingedejonge.com

Our home in St Paul le Jeune, the Magnanerie, used to be an independent family run business where silk worms were cultivated, grapes were grown and animals were reared.  Our plan is to make two further gites here to accommodate guests in a family environment.

From the old workshop within the Magnanerie, my wife Inge, runs her own fashion label Inge de Jonge. Here she designs all her own collections and every so often she has in house and her little shop in Barjac, shows and sales. After being abandoned for 40 years, we have breathed new life in to this glorious silk farm and industry, creativity and beauty returns to this wonderful building.
